Greg Merril, CEO, Adaptive Phage Therapeutics describes useful viruses that host on and kill bacteria acting as nature's natural antibiotic.  Phage therapy actually predates antibiotics but recent research has enabled scientist to better identify which phage will have the desired impact on specific bacteria.  Greg talks about how modern phage therapy, drawing on a large collection of phage, might become the best way to treat recalcitrant, chronic infections where antibiotics have failed.  Greg's father Carl Merril spent the majority of his career at NIH working on basic research on phage beginning in the mid 1960s.
